Saturday and Sunday – June 2 and 3 –Grover Beach

Saturday morning we got up and out, on our bikes, and rode south down Highway 1, to the State Beach Camp grounds. The campgrounds have about 50 sites and backs up to the beach – so the campers have an easy walk to the sand and sea.

In the afternoon we loaded up some beach chairs, coolers and beach towels and headed to the Oceano Dunes at Grover Beach. The plan was to be there at or around low tide @ 2:20pm. Everyone takes their vehicles out on the beach  and further south - down to the dunes to do their own thing.

So, we paid our Beach fee and proceeded to get our truck stuck – da !!   Thanks to some locals who helped us, we  let all the air out of the tires saving about 20 pounds and we were on our way to fun on the beach…..here is some video of Saturday afternoon.

Once we left the beach, we refilled the tires and headed towards Shell beach on the north end of PISMO and finally to Del’s Pizzeria- Restaurant.

Sunday morning we were up and went to the PISMO Beach Municipal Golf course. It is only a 9 hole Executive(par-3) golf course but proved a challenge anyway. (I think I could lose golf balls on a putt-putt course)  The course is right next to the Grover beach, so afterwards, we exchanged clubs for beach chairs and headed towards the sand and set up. Life is good !!
